We used a voice recorder and USB microphone to record our Foley sounds. We recorded sounds such as : Rain on gravel, Fire crackling, restaurant, crowded street, school and park. We had to use several different objects and locations to create these sounds.
On the USB microphone we recorded the Rain on gravel and fire crackling sounds. we did this by pouring uncooked rice into a bowl to create the rain on gravel sound and scrunched aluminium foil to create the sound of fire crackling.
Then on the voice recorder we recorded the crowded street, restaurant, school and park. First we recorded the restaurant sound in a restaurant, the school was recorded in a noisy classroom and to record the park sound we went to the park and played around on the swings as it made seem as if people were playing in the park.
Then on the lapel microphone, we recorded the rain on gravel and fire crackling. To record, we took turns recording the sounds. First Maheen stayed in the gallery to control the sounds and I was in the classroom with a microphone attached and a camera recording.
Lastly we imported all the sounds on Final cut pro and edited out any sounds we didn't need. We also added names to each sound and uploaded it to Youtube.
